Fans of the sci-fi drama "Sense8" are still awaiting word from the giant streaming service Netflix on the renewal of their favorite drama for season 2. While Netflix still has not given a renewal order for the series, the show's creators recently revealed their long term plans.
"Sense8" Season 2 is still up in the air, as Netflix remains silent about the show's renewal since its first season concluded in June in an episode titled, "I Can't Leave Her."
"We're still awaiting word [about season two], and we're cautiously optimistic, but it's Netflix's call," said co-creator J. Michael Straczynski during the Television Critics Association Panel on Tuesday, wrote Variety.
While Netflix has remained mum about their plans to renew or cancel the sci-fi drama on their streaming site, Straczynski revealed that he, together with Andy and Lana Wachowski are already thinking of long-term plans for the series.
"Season one is like an origin story and season two has some particular arc and we figure it out from there. But to spoil that here would not be the best interest of the surprise at the end," he said.
Meanwhile, a recent report from Netflix Life cited a possible reason as to what is keeping Netflix from greenlighting "Sense8" for Season 2. The outlet noted that the streaming service could still be carefully weighing its plans for the series, especially after receiving positive responses from fans and viewers from Season 1.
"I think Netflix is trying to figure out the plan for the future of the show and lock in locations, studios, and the like. 'Sense8' shoots at locations all over the world. That's not exactly cheap."
