An article from Real Simple enumerated another eight ways aside from the ones that was published in Realty Today.

Here are other eight tips on making the apartment looks large, as mentioned in the article.  

1.     Choose airy pieces. The article suggested that instead of using a solid-wood coffee table, choose a see-through acrylic one or a table with an open base. Also, choose sofas and armchairs that are raised on legs because it creates a sense of light and space, as advised from Style Caster.

2.     Have a multifunctional furniture. The article also suggested some ideas such as using a garden stool can be an end table and a spot to perch or an ottoman with a tray can hold TV remotes or change it into extra seating.  In an article from Woman's Day, Christine Brun, interior designer and author of Small Space Living said, "Dual-use furniture creates more room by increasing the function of each space."

3.     Choose furniture with space. Choosing furniture with space can help keeping a small room from being cluttered because it helps to store object as the article mentioned it. The article also gave suggestion like a coffee table with a shelf below, a bench with bins underneath, and an ottoman with a removable top and empty space inside. In addition, an article from Houzz suggested that use ottomans, window seats, armoires, and bookcases with enclosed compartments can be a perfect solution for hiding everyday clutter.

4.     Place caster on the furniture. Adding a caster in furniture or buying furniture on casters can easily rearrange pieces as needed as the article mentioned it. Also, the article from Houzz mentioned that furniture on wheels can be pushed away when not needed.

5.     Put plants. Placing green plants can make the space feel fresher and lighter, as discussed in the article. In addition, the article suggested that try hanging the plant if there is no room on the floor.

6.     Design walls. The article advised that hang up jewelries, or cutting boards and trivets to clear out drawer space in the bedroom or kitchen. An article from Lowes gave some suggestions on how to design walls.

7.     Add some spaces between the furniture and the wall. Having a few inches between the wall and the couch can make the living room look more open, as the article listed it. If there are no spaces between the furniture and the wall, everything will look and feel cramped, as reported from Buzzfeed.

8.     Use vertical stripes. The article added that using vertical stripes can make a low ceiling feel higher. The article from Buzzfeed added that a striped vertical rug can make the room appear longer.
