Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas On Fire.

What was supposed to be a fun-filled and relaxing Saturday afternoon for the visitors and guest of the luxurious Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas have turned into a tale of horror.

Clark County fire department responded into an alarm about a fire happening around 12:15 PM at the Cosmopolitan Hotel's Bamboo Pool area at the West End tower. When firefighters and rescue volunteers arrived, they were greeted by an intense flame and plumes of black smoke coming from the outside pool area of the Cosmopolitan were most of the guests were basking underneath the sun. Though not an official statement, there was a speculation of a lit cigarette causing the fire in the pool area where light materials such as cabanas and other trees are situated. The said light materials readily available in the pool area as decors are seen to be the aggravating factor of the said incident.

In the aftermath of the event, according to an unconfirmed report, the towering inferno which caused panic within the vicinity of the 3000 room luxury hotel left two people injured. And neither of the injured victims was identified, but both suffered from smoke inhalation and still being treated.

Though the said damage among the two injured individuals can be considered as minimal compared to what it could have been. But still it cannot be reckoned that the incident caused trauma and significant chaos and disturbance in the area for a period of time. According Fire Chief Greg Cassell, the fire was successfully put out 30 minutes after 110 firefighters and 35 vehicles were dispatched and were able maintain the fire in the five-year-old luxury casino and hotel.

On the other side of the incident, while firefighters and hotel staff were busy in evacuating the people within the affected area, people and other hotel guests nearby were able to witness and record through their mobile phones the unprecedented and terrifying moment. Sample Video Link Here.
