The Ultimate High Tech Man-Cave

As mentioned in an article from Curbed, Jomo Williams, New Zealand-based engineer and inventor, designed and built Skysphere. The article added that the 33 feet tall and 270 square feet structure was worked for over three years. The house can be seen in New Zealand and it has a price of $75,000, as reported from Stuff.co.nz. There are no articles that reveal the exact place of Skysphere.

The article from Curbed added that the smart home has solar power, fingerprint access, a beer cooler that texts you when running low, and voice command LED lighting. In addition, Jomo Williams has a plan to combine the functions in a single smart phone app.

Regarding the cost of the project, the article included that Engr. Williams was a set back by about NZ$50 thousand. He also has a plan to build a house underneath it.

In addition to the cost, the article from Stuff.co.nz reported that another major cost was the purchase of a sledgehammer to fix the spot and transportation of the tower to the construction site. He said, "The steel curved pipes were not manufactured within my specified tolerances, so I had to figure out how to make it work."

He added, "Another real challenge was transportation of the tower from my construction site to the foundation. I had to nut it all out in my head and just do it."

Engr. Jomo Williams mentioned in the official website of Skysphere that it does not have a bathroom but he has a plan for it. He said, "No bathroom at the moment but I plan to build a small bathroom in the trees near the tower. . . "

The website also mentioned that it does not have a lift or an elevator because it adds to the expenses and he does not mind using a ladder. Also, he used a rope to get things in and out.

The house also boasts having a 360 degree window having 2 meters high and with a circumference of 14 meters wherein a nice view can be seen.

In the official website, Jomo Williams had a degree in Computer Graphic Design and for three years, he studied mechanical engineering. In addition, he is full time as a Plastics Engineer/Graphic Designer and owning an I.T. company.

Pictures can be seen in Curbed and in The Skysphere. Also, there is a Facebook page for Skysphere.
