The Five Tallest Buildings in Asia, Part II

An article from Wonderlist enumerated other five buildings aside from the ones that was published in Realty Today.

Here are the other five tallest buildings in Asia as mentioned in the article from Wonderlist.

1.  International Commerce Centre, Hong Kong

The 1,588 feet building is also known as Union Square which is located in West Kowloon, Hong Kong. The article added that the tower forms a "gateway" for Victoria Harbor with Two International Finance Centre at the opposite side of the harbor. In addition, the building has 118 floors, with the Ritz-Carlton Hotel between 102 to 118 levels, an observatory called Sky100 on its 100th floor and the world's highest swimming pool and bar can be seen in 118th floor.

In an article from Hong Kong Asia's World City, the building has more than 50,000 square-meter platform for a spectacular light and music show and the Guinness World Record recognized the building for the "Largest Light and Sound Show on a single building."

2.   Petronas Twin Tower, Malaysia

The 1,483 feet tower is the tallest twin towers in the world located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The building was opened on August 1, 1999 and it has 88 levels on each tower with a double decker sky-bridge that connects the two towers on the 41st and 42nd floors. Tower One is occupied by Petronas and a number of its subsidiaries and associate companies while the Tower Two is occupied by AVEVA, Boeing, IBM, TCS, Bloomberg, HCL, Microsoft and Reuters.

In the article from Petronas Twin Tower, the building has a height of 452 meters above street level, the skybridge between the twin towers has a length of 58.4 meters, and the height of each pinnacle is 73.5 meters.

3.  Zifeng Tower, China

Also known as Greenland Center or Greenland Square Zifeng Tower is located in Nanjing, China and has a height of 1,480 feet. The article added that it was known as Nanjing Greenland Financial Center before the inaguration. The construction of the building was started in 2005 and ended in 2010. The building has 89 floors which are used for various purposes which have retail and office space in the lower section, and restaurants, hotel, and a public observatory near the top.

In an article from SOM, the article described the skyscraper offers sweeping views of a nearby lake, the surrounding mountains, and the city's many historic buildings.

4.   Kingkey 100, China

Also known as KK 100 and Kingkey Finance Center Plaza is located in Shenzhen Luohu District, Guangdong province, China. It is the 4th tallest building in China which was started in 2007 and opened in public in 2007. The building has a height of 1,449 feet tall with 100 levels. The article added that the 68 floors are used for Class A office space, 22 stories for a five-star business hotel and the top four floors of the building hold a garden and several other restaurants.

In addition, The St. Regis Hotel occupies from 75th floor to 98th floor of the main tower, which also has a sky garden lobby on the 94th floor.

5.  Guangzhou International Finance Center,  China

Also known as Guangzhou West Tower is located in Zhujiang Avenue West in the Tianhe District of Guangzhou, Guangdong, China. The 1,439 feet tall building won the RIBA 2012 Lubetkin Prize. The building was built in December 2005 and was finished in 2010.

In addition, the building has 103 floors in it which are used as conference centers, hotels and offices. From first floor through 66th floor are used as offices, floors 67 and 68 are for mechanical equipment, then 69th floor to 98th floor is a hotel named Four Seasons with the lobby on the 70th floor, and 99th and 100th are used as an observation deck.

In an article from Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, the building is a landmark tower that defines the international strength of China's third city and it serves as a landmark for Guangzhou Zhujiang New Town's main axis, which links the commercial district in the north with the Pearl River to the south.
