Robert De Niro Net Worth: Actor's Rented Manhattan Pad Up for Grabs for $55M

Robert De Niro's former $125,000 rented home in New York has been listed in the market. The five-bedroom, six-bathroom apartment that the actor occupied with his second wife, actress Grace Hightower, is now available for $55 million.

The massive Manhattan pad is the biggest among all apartments located at the luxurious 15 Central Park West.  The large apartment was rented out by De Niro and his wife after a fire broke out in his Upper West Side co-op in 2012. De Niro leased the massive apartment from Leroy Schechter, a rich steel magnate.

The flat occupies a 6,000-square-foot area and is the only home occupying the entire 35th floor of the expensive New York building. It is so huge that it practically joins two lavish condos into one. The expensive Manhattan suite boasts a library, a dining room, a private elevator and a sophisticated master-suite occupying the entire south side of the apartment, Daily Mail reports.

It has a perfect panoramic view of the South, West and the East. The pad overlooks the Central Park, downtown Manhattan, Columbus Circle and a 70-foot stretch of the Hudson River.

According to NY Daily News, it is not the first time for the Manhattan home to be placed in the market. Back in 2012, the owner listed it for $95 million. The price was cut back to $85 million in April 2013 and to $70 million by November 2013.

With no apparent buyer, the price went down until it was offered in its current price tag of $55 million. It is allegedly one of the priciest pads to be sold in the market today.

De Niro's former Manhattan rental apartment was also home to Yankees player Alex Rodriguez, who also rented the space from the owner. De Niro's former neighbors in the expensive building include Oscar winner Denzel Washington and Sting. The property is presently handled by broker Paula Del Nunzio of Brown Harris Stevens.

De Niro's net worth is estimated to be $200 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. Aside from acting, he also directs and produces films.
