Microsoft Surface Pro 4 Release Date: Device To Be Released in October; What We Know So Far

Software giant Microsoft is reportedly gearing up to release its new computing device, the Microsoft Surface Pro 4, and it will arrive in retail stores in October. The device is expected to be shipped with Windows 10 operating system. However, the company still has to issue a statement to confirm the release date of the Surface Pro 4, a report from Tech Times said on Thursday.

The report said that Microsoft has been tight-lipped on the release of the upcoming Microsoft Surface Pro 4. It cited that various suppliers have hinted that the hardware components of the Surface Pro 4 will be shipped from September this year and categorically stated the device will be available in October.

DigiTimes reported that Surface Pro tablets were manufactured by Pegatron Technology while the tablet's camera module was developed by Largan Precision and Newmax. Ju Teng International was the sole supplier for the Surface Pro's magnesium-aluminum alloy unibody chassis. Taisol Electronics and Chaun-Choung Technology (CCI,  ITE Tech, Realtek and Winbond), are also reported suppliers of the rumored Surface Pro tablet.

A related report from Yibada has confirmed that Surface Pro 4 will likely be revealed at the start of the fourth quarter of this year based on the information tipped by industry insiders. The report pointed out that Microsoft is still busy promoting its latest operating system, Microsoft Windows 10, as well as the smartphones Lumia 940 and 940 XL.

Tech Times said that Microsoft's Surface Pro 4 won't have new external design features and instead will have similar features with Surface Pro 3. The Surface Pro 4 will reportedly come with the same bezel size but with a large display of 12 inches as response to the request of some tablet users and to compete directly with Apple's rumored iPad Pro.
