Last July 10, writer and executive producer Steven Molaro disclosed during the recently held Comic-con about the relationship of Sheldon and Amy which is known as "Shamy", Raj and his girlfriend Emily, and Penny's family history, as reported in Master Herald.
In the Twitter account of The Big Bang Theory, the post revealed that the premiere episode of the new season will focus on the ring. The tweet goes, "And the ring? 'The answer will be in the premiere episode of Season 9.' EP @SteveMolaro confirms your biggest question. #BigBangTheory #SDCC."
In addition, Latin Post reported that Sheldon will confirm his planned proposal to Amy and he will also reveal when he purchased the ring in the upcoming season.
An article from The Hollywood Reporter revealed that even Steven Molaro did not know on what Sheldon's plans are in proposing to Amy. He said, "I don't know how long he's had that. I have an idea but I'm not going to tell you!. . ."
Steven Molaro also advised the viewers to tune in for the upcoming season to see if Leonard and Penny will be married in Las Vegas.
For eight seasons, Penny's last name has not been revealed but in the article from Master Herald, Penny's last name is Barrington and Chuck Lorre confirmed it. Also, the article mentioned of rumors about the appearance of Penny's biological father in the upcoming season but writers and producers did not say anything.
The article added that the upcoming season will also answer if Raj will continue his relationship with Emily or if he will call it quits. Steven Molaro also added in the interview that Raj and Emily will have some issues to work on.
In a separate interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Molaro mentioned that there are chances that Howard's younger half-brother, Matt Bennett, might appear in the upcoming season. He said, "If anything happens, it won't be in season eight; it would be in season nine. But it's a really interesting dynamic that Howard, who spent his whole life as an only child, finds out that now he does have a stepbrother. I do think there are more stories that can be mined from that, and we'll be keeping it in mind as we move forward in season nine."
Steven Molaro also mentioned in the interview that there is a possibility that Howard's father will appear. As reported from Bustle, fans are also expecting that Bernadette and Howard will have a child,
'The Big Bang Theory' will resume in September 21 on CBS.
