The breakup rumors came about after a blind item was released on TV Line, citing that a fan favorite couple from an aging series will be headed for a devastating breakup in its upcoming season.
Fans immediately concluded that Rick Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) are the couple being mentioned on the blind item following news about the addition of a new character named Hayley.
"As Season 8 gets underway, Rick will be spending a lot of time with Hayley," TV Line reported.
Back then, Hayley was described as a "quick-witted, free-spirited, former Scotland Yard police officer who works as a security specialist and is not afraid to cross lines to get things done." Now, "The Neighbors" star Toks Olagundoye has officially signed on to play the role of Hayley in "Castle" Season 8.
While many Casket fans were disappointed to hear about the ongoing rumors about their favorite "Castle" couple, others seemed excited to learn about a possible new love interest for Rick.
