Apple MacBook Air 2016 In the Works? Will It Be The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 Killer?

Recent rumors circulating online revealed that tech giant Apple is gearing up to release a new device for its MacBook product line, which is the 2016 MacBook Air. The 2016 MacBook Air is touted as the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 Killer once it it's officially released next year, Master Herald reported on Monday.

According to Master Herald, the Cupertino-based  tech company will announce the new MacBook this October but will likely release the device to the market by March 2016. It can be recalled that Apple's 2015 MacBook Air was launched in October last year but was subsequently released to the public a few weeks later.

However, the report stressed that Apple will unlikely follow the same launch date of the 2015 MacBook. This is because Apple is reportedly waiting for Intel to launch its new processor, the Core M-based Skylake. The Core M-based Skylake is reportedly the new processor that will be used in the rumored 2016 MacBook Air. Accordingly, Intel's Skylake processors will be available in the fourth quarter of this year. Thus, with this development, the rumored new 2016 MacBook will be likely released by 2016.

A related report from Inquisitir pointed out that the rumored 2016 MacBook Air will compete head to head with Microsoft Surface Pro  4. Avid users of Apple's MacBook are expecting major innovative features and improvements once the device is unveiled to the public.

The rumored new MacBook Air 2016 will reportedly feature a new, slim industrial design. It added that it may sport a couple of USB-Type C ports with an enhanced display. It is also said that MacBook Air 2016 will sport a resolution of 1440 x 900 for its 13-inch version and a resolution of 1366 x 768 for its 11-inch version. With a Skylake processor, the 2016 MacBook is expected to provide exceptional performance.
