Bill Cosby Rape Charges Update: Actor Admits Giving Women Drugs For Sex

The serious sexual assault charges against actor Bill Cosby are still ongoing. It was revealed in a 2005 document, which was recently obtained, that Cosby admitted that he secured the drug Quaaludes with the intention of giving it to women he wants to have sex with.

According to The Washington Post, the documents were obtained on Monday by The Associate Press. However, Cosby's lawyers insisted that the accusers knew that Cosby were giving them Quaaludes and consented to the sexual encounter.

Quaaludes is known for being a party drug and is also known to be used in different date rape cases. In high doses, the drug can cause delirium and decrease in motor coordination. It has been made illegal in the United States in 1984; however, there are still illegal laboratories which produce them.

Newsweek reported that Cosby's admission was part of a lawsuit back in 2005. An unidentified woman who was employed by Temple University, wherein Cosby was part of the board of trustees, accused the actor that he had sexually assaulted her. According to Cosby's testimony, he admitted to giving the woman three and a half pills of Benadryl; however, the woman's lawyers doubted if that was really the drug involved. The lawsuit was later settled under confidential terms.

As of writing, Cosby is still denying the charges of sexual assault from different women against him despite a number of "victims" coming forward. Some of the cases even date back to decades ago. Even with the rise of the number of alleged victims, Cosby has never been criminally charged with sexual assault or rape.

Cosby's lawyers are now reportedly working to prevent the 2005 documents from being obtained by the court. They claim that the documents could embarrass their client. Nevertheless, the lawyers of some of the women suing Cosby held the testimony as a powerful validation to their claim that Cosby has been drugging women to be able to sexually abuse them.
