Game developer NetherRealm Studio has announced this week that the Predator character in "Mortal Kombat X" will officially be available on July 7 via a DLC pack. For players who did not purchase the DLC pack, however, the Predator character will be available via a DLC download on July 14, a report from Master Herald said.
According to Master Herald, the new "Mortal Kombat X" Predator character has three kinds, namely, the Hunter, the Warrior, and the Hish Qu-Ten. NetherRealm Studio claims that these variations allow the Predator to use different weapons like laser, trap drones and a self-destruct mechanism on its wrist.
Cinemablend reports that the Predator character in "Mortal Kombat X" will have the classic abilities that were featured in movies "Predator" and "Predator 2." For instance, it was reported that Predator will likely have a razor sharp disc that cuts through almost anything. Another thing is that the Predator will use classic accessories such as wristblades and a shoulder cannon.
The same report added that the Predator's two unique finishing moves are brutal and fatal. However, the Predator character that uses a razor disc isn't quite as hard-hitting as he blows his opponents into pieces by using the shoulder cannon. The Predator DLC for "Mortal Kombat X" was the recently added character in the video game after Tanya and Jason Voorhees.
A related report from IGN explains that the Predator's two variations, the Warrior and Hunter, were not particularly revelatory character titles, and it emphasized that High-Qu-Ten, which is the third variation, has several links to the Predator extended universe.
According to Shoryuken, the Predators were commonly known as Yautja, otherwise called Hish-Qu-Ten. The Hish-Qu-Ten name was based on John Shirley's novel titled "Predator: Forever Midnight." Hish-Qu-Ten, based on the same report, possesses a unique gland that reportedly pumps out powerful hormones into their blood. The hormones can make Hish-Qu-Ten drive into a rage, which triggers it to kill anyone.
The Predator character comes packaged in the Predator bundle. The bundle also includes various skins such as Commando Johnny, Infrared Scorpion and Carl Weathers as Jax. Gamers can get these skins and bundle via a Kombat Pack, according to IGN.
