Asus Zenfone 2 vs Motorola Droid Turbo Specs, Price, Review : Which Smartphone Should You Get?

Just last year, Motorola released quite a number of phones including flagships and mid-range, and they also worked on Google's Nexus 6. In October, they released a smartphone which is seem to be designed to topple Samsung Note 4 on its ranks. And in 2015, Asus fired back with three variants of the Zenfone 2. This article, however, will compare Motorola Droid Turbo and Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML model.

Design

The Droid Turbo's back is made either of Kevlar with flashy holographic stitch pattern (slippery) or of ballistic nylon (not slippery but is somewhat cheap-looking). The top's thickness is 8.3mm and it gets thicker at the bottom with 11.3mm. Weighing 169grams, it has a width of 73.3mm and 143.5mm height. Motorola Droid Turbo is also splash resistant but you still have to be careful as you won't be able to replace the back. All in all, this phone has a sturdy design.

Asus Zenfone 2, on the other hand, almost has the same design with LG G3 - brushed metal body and power buttons on the back, and just below is the rear camera. A gram heavier than Droid Turbo, it has a thickness of 10.9mm with a rectangular body and round corners. Yes, a bit thinner than Motorola's.

Display

According to review from Master Herald, "the Droid Turbo does win a bit, as it offers a 1440×2560 resolution on a 5.2 inch display, while the ZenFone 2 might offer a slightly larger screen at 5.5 inches, but it runs at a 1080×1920 resolution, making it a less dense display than that of its rival."

Hardware

When comparing Motorola Droid Turbo and Asus Zenfone 2, the latter offers a 64-bit processor while the former has a 32-bit. Now, Asus uses PowerVR G430 graphics and offers 16, 32, and 64 GB internal memory. Take note though that the first two come with a microSD slot so you can increase their capacity still up to 64GB.

Camera

UK Marketing News compares the camera specs of Asus Zenfone 2 vs Motorola Droid Turbo:

"Motorola isn't really famous for equipping its phones with advanced cameras, but the Droid Turbo is one of the happy cases because it received a 21MP back shooter which is accompanied by dual-LED flash, HDR, video capture at 2160p@24fps and other features, but it lacks OIS. As for the front camera, it's only 2MP. The Zenfone 2 sports a reasonable 13MP camera on the back also with dual-LED flash and other common features, and the selfies look much better with the 5MP camera from the front."

Batteries

The Zenfone 2 comes with a non-removable 3000 mAh battery unit while the Droid Turbo has a 3900 mAh battery (but can't be replaced) but will give you 48 hours when talking over at 3G.

Prices

The Droid Turbo 32GB is priced at $700 while Zenfone 2 16GB is $300.
