GoPro Hero 5 October 5 Release Date Delayed Due to Upgrades; Action Camera Aims to Become the 'Most Powerful Videography Equipment'

The October release date of the popular high-definition sports camcorder, GoPro Hero 5, will not push through. GoPro, Inc. has moved the release date of the device to 2016 because of "major device upgrades," Master Herald reported on Tuesday.

Master Herald noted in its report that GoPro, Inc. explained that the company needs ample time to factor in "unprecendented upgrades" in the soon-to-be-released GoPro Hero 5. These so-called unprecendented upgrades, as the company claims, refer to new features that will make GoPro Hero 5 better for the extreme world of action, according to the same website.

Although it is common knowledge that GoPro Hero 5 will sport an 8K video resolution as previous reports suggested, rumor has it that the device will also have new features that will make it the "most powerful videographic equipment" in the camcorder industry, a report from VC Post stated.

The VC Post report also revealed that GoPro Hero 5 will have a longer battery life that's more than twice that in the GoPro Hero 4 model. It will also sport a dual-lens camera intended for 3D video recording as well as an improved waterproofing capability that can go up to 60 meters deep. GoPro Hero 5 will also have a touchscreen feature. The device's 8K video quality will reportedly feature a full Ultra HD quality format with a whopping 4230 pixels.

Moreover, Donklephant reported that GoPro Hero 5's video recording rate will be at 60 frames per seconds (FPS), an indicator that the device will have an upgraded chip. The GoPro Hero 5 will reportedly be capable to stream photos using its embedded Wi-Fi technology. It will also have an HDMI port and will be powered by an advanced Bluetooth 4.0 module. The GoPro Hero 5, as various reports suggested, will be priced between $400 to $500 once it arrives in retail stores.
