Is Jeremy Renner gay? The actor opened up and revealed the truth behind rumors surrounding his sexuality and divorce with ex-wife in a recent candid interview with Playboy for its July/August issue.
The "Avengers" star, who played Hawkeye, shrugged off the gay rumors and said that he actually doesn't care about what other people think about him.
"I'm not going to try to prove what I am or am not," says Renner. "When you google yourself and the first thing that comes up is 'Jeremy Renner gay,' it's like, 'Oh, now you've arrived. You're now a giant movie star.' I don't care, ultimately, if that's what people want to think, read and care about," the star said.
Instead of getting disappointed about the gay issues circulating over the media, the 44-year-old actor quipped and instead took the controversy the other way around, PEOPLE reports.
"I don't care [if people think I'm gay]," he explained. "F--king say whatever the hell you want about me."

Renner revealed that it was his daughter Ava who's been his inspiration to everything he does. Ava is her daughter with his ex-wife, actress-model Sonni Pacheco. The two admitted their union last year but separated months after. They have shared custody over their daughter.
The Oscar-nominated actor also admitted during the interview that he's very sensitive when it comes to being a dad to his two-year-old daughter. He reportedly would even give up anything for her, even a good opportunity like the film "Mission: Impossible 5," ABC News reports. Renner also added that he doesn't care about any project offer or payment as long as he would be with Ava.
Moving from the gay rumors, the California native actor also opened up on the challenges he faces today as his divorce is being finalized in court. The actor stated that he hasn't slept for more than four hours from the recent weeks.
