'Fallout Shelter' Android Game Might Be Delayed While the iOS App Debuts at No. 1

The Android version of Bethesda's mobile video game "Fallout Shelter" will reportedly be delayed for a few months. The company has not explained the reason for the delay.

A report from iDigitalTimes has predicted that Bethesda will hopefully announce the release date of the "Fallout Shelter" for Android this month since it was not released alongside its iOS version of the video game. Bethesda, as the report noted, is working hard on the development of "Fallout Shelter" for Android smartphone users. In fact, the company has posted a series of job listings for developers for the game's version on Android platform.

Meanwhile, Techtimes reports that "Fallout Shelter" for iOs was the most downloaded mobile game since its launch. The report indicated that mobile gamers from 48 countries have downloaded the game. The overwhelming download rate propelled "Fallout Shelter" to the top spot in the Apple's App Store a week after it was publicly launched. Accordingly, "Fallout Shelter" was described to be the most downloaded mobile application across 25 countries. The mobile game was played by more than 70 million people globally, Bethesda claims.

"Fallout Shelter" is Bethesda's first venture into the mobile gaming market. Its stunning success reportedly opens a floodgate of opportunities for Bethesda to develop other mobile games. For Bethesda Game Studios' Director, Todd Howard, the public's response to the "Fallout Shelter" for iOS is indicative of people's love for the game.

"We play games on our phones all the time, and have always wanted to make one. To have our first mobile game be enjoyed by so many is stunning. It just shows that gamers appreciate more depth and being treated fairly. It also shows people love 'Fallout' as much as we do," said Howard as quoted in the Techtimes report.

For the time being, Android-based fans of the "Fallout Shelter" will have to wait a little bit longer for their own version of the game.
