How is Avril Lavigne after she tells the public of her disease?

On December 2014, MTV reported that Avril Lavigne is not in good condition after she revealed the reason behind her mysterious public absence.

A twitter fan @AvrilMusicChart sent a direct message to the singer on December 6 asking if Lavigne was in the studio working on a new album.

Avril responded, "I feel bad, because I haven't been able to say anything to the fans to let them know why I've been absent. I'm torn, as I'm quite private following up with a vague statement on her health. I'm not feeling well. I'm having some health issues. So please keep me in your prayers."

Months after hiding the disease, the "Hello Kitty" singer was interviewed on "Good Morning America" about her present situation, as cited in MTV. The singer mentioned that she was bed-ridden in Los Angeles since October 2014. When she consulted doctors about why she was so tired all the time, many of them didn't have an answer for her, calling it Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

The article of Yahoo News! cited that it wasn't until two months into the symptoms that she said she suspected Lyme disease. "I started going to other doctors and, like, specifically telling them and asking, like, 'I have Lyme disease. I know I do. Can you check me?" Then I finally figured out, 'Find a Lyme specialist,'' she mentioned in the interview.

The "Black Star" artist also mentioned during the interview that things are doing a lot better. The singer said, "This is my second shot at life. I'm about halfway through my treatment. I'm doing a lot better. Seeing a lot of progress... I'm just really grateful to know that I will make [a] 100 percent recovery."

As words of encouragement for those who have Lyme disease, the singer mentioned: "There is hope. Lyme disease does exist. And you can get better."

As cited in the article of Stuff, the singer posted a picture of herself on her Instagram account with the caption: "Driving around after a big morning with my GMA interview. Cried on national television this am. So embarrassing. Lol. Thankful to God that I am recovering, finally getting on with my life and ready to help other people."

Good Morning America posted a picture in their Twitter Account about the interview with the caption: ""This is like a second shot at life ... I really just wanna go out there and truly do what I love." - @AvrilLavigne."

Meanwhile, Avril Lavigne's Dogs posted the ABC News interview on Youtube.

Lavigne is set to perform her song, "Fly," on July 25 at the opening ceremonies of the 2015 Special Olympics World Games next month in Los Angeles.

The same article of MTV reported that Lyme disease is a bacterial infection transmitted to humans by tick bites. People who have it experience fever, headaches, fatigue, and rashes, but if it goes untreated (by antibiotics), it can spread to the heart and nervous system.
