Sports Update: NFL Is Looking for a Temporary Home in Los Angeles for 2016 Season

The NFL has confirmed that they are searching for their temporary home in the Los Angeles market. Based on L.A Times report, the league issued some proposal requests to their prospected venues, among of them are the L.A. Coliseum in downtown Los Angeles and the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. This was intended to secure a temporary home for the team in the probable event of relocation in 2016.

"It is part of the process and an effort to understand all of our options and have a well thought out plan if a team or teams were to be approved to relocate," NFL vice president of corporate development Chris Hardart told the Los Angeles Times.

The NFL owners' special meeting will be scheduled On August 11, at Chicago. This meeting aims to bring updates about the L.A.'s situation and to define the schedule for one or two potential club relocation. 

Other than the Rose Bowl and Coliseum, a report from nfl.com news said that Hardart refused to identify any potential interim sites that have caught the NFL's eye. However, the current college tenants of those two stadiums: UCLA and USC, respectively, have veto power when it comes to welcoming a professional team. And Dodger Stadium could also be a potential temporary venue, league executive have touted in the past. The other potential interim sites are: Dodger Stadium, Angel Stadium of Anaheim and StubHub Center in Carson, NFL added. It was reported that the three teams have the potential to move--- The San Diego Chargers, Oakland Raiders and St. Louis Rams.

Rams owner Stan Kroenke picked the stadium in Inglewood, while the Raiders and Chargers have already discussed about sharing a stadium in Carson. A temporary stadium will be needed due to neither of the stadium would be finished and ready to use before the 2018 season.
