DC Comics Update: 'Supergirl' Release Date and What to expect on the pilot episode?

"It's not a bird. It's not a plane. It's not a man. It's Supergirl." This is what the first official teaser of the "Supergirl" revealed. 

The fans will look something forward as CBS makes another TV Series from DC Comics following "Arrow" and "The Flash", according to Collider.

Mellisa Benoist will be the one to play as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl, Chyler Leigh as Alex, foster sister of Kara. Also in the cast are Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant, media mogul, Mechad Brooks as James Olsen, former photographer of the 'Daily Planet' and Kara's new art director, David Harewood as Hank Henshaw, head of a super-secret agency as well as Jeremy Jordan as Winslow "Winn" Schott. Also making appearances in mystery roles are Dean Cain and Helen Slater, as cited in the article from Comingsoon.

According to the official sypnosis, as cited in the report from Comicbook, Kara is sent to watch for her cousin, Superman. Kara grew up in the shadow of her foster sister, Alex while living with her foster family, the Danvers. Years later at 24, Kara lives in National City assisting media mogul and fierce taskmaster Cat Grant who just hired the Daily Planet's former photographer, James Olsen, as her new art director. However, Kara's days of keeping her talents a secret ended when Hank Henshaw, head of a super-secret agency where her sister also works, enlists her to help them protect the citizens of National City from sinister threats. Though Kara will need to find a way to manage her newfound empowerment with her very human relationships, her heart soars as she takes to the skies as Supergirl to fight crime.

The sypnosis added that Greg Berlanti, Ali Adler, Sarah Schecter and Andrew Kreisberg are executive producers for Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. The pilot was directed by Glen Winter.

 Youtube user MovieManiacsDE released a first official teaser of the "Supergirl." 

"Supergirl" will premiere on October 26 at 8:30 p.m. and the pilot episode will play at Comic-Con on July 8. "Supergirl" moves to its regular time slot on Monday, November 2 from 8:00-9:00pm.
