Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 News: Release Date Set for July, Device Has Improved Features To Beat Apple iPad

Korean-based mobile company Samsung will unveil a brand-new flagship device dubbed as Apple's iPad Air 2 rival, the Galaxy Tab S2. The flagship device is set to be launched next month, three months ahead of the next Apple iPad Air product line, the iPad Air 3 and iPad Mini 4, Master Herald reported on Sunday.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 will reportedly have the same specifications with that of Apple iPad Air 2. Earlier this month, a leaked photo of an alleged Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 circulated online. If such leaked photo is believed to be true, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 will come in a "slick, thinner metallic device." Christian Today noted that the new Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 features an "ultra-slim design," a hardware feature that can compete directly with Apple iPad tablets.

When it comes to other specifications, Sam Mobile reports that Samsung's second-generation tablet will have a 4:3 aspect ratio display and a stunning Super AMOLED feature. According to Sam Mobile, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 will be available in 8.0- and 9.7-inch displays with a 2048x1536 pixel resolution. The Samsung tablet will be powered by Android 5.0 Lollipop using an Exynos 5433 processor clocked at 1.9 Ghz speed. The soon-to-be-released Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 device will reportedly have an LTE connectivity feature, 3 GB of Random Access Memory and an 8 MP rear camera.

Sam Mobile reported previously that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 will likely be launched by June.

Meanwhile, in comparison, Apple's iPad Air 2 comes with a 2048x1536 resolution and will be powered by A8X mobile chipset running under iOS 8. According to Apple,  the A8X mobile chip delivers better CPU and graphics performance compared to its predecessor.  The device's dimension is reportedly 9.4 inches long and 6.6 inches wide. It weighs 0.96 pounds. Apple brags its breakthrough Touch ID technology, which offers mobile users an unmatched security compared to Samsung Galaxy Tab S2.
