The first half of "Finding Carter" Season 2 just ended last week, so fans still have a few questions they want answered in relation to David and his son Ben. During Season 2's finale episode, David was surprised to find out that he fathered a young man named Ben, who also happens to be Lori's son.
This revelation has led to two major fan speculations. First, some fans are thinking that Lori may have stolen David's sperm when they slept together. Second, some fans are suggesting that David may have always thought that it's possible he fathered a child with Lori.
In an interview with Zap2It, "Finding Carter" lead star Kathryn Prescott said that David's innocence has to be real, considering all of the lies he has already put his family through.
"The biggest shock is that he says David is his father. That's the 'Oh my God' thing. It has to be true that David doesn't know. After all of this crap that David has kept, after all the secrets and lies, if he has a child that he didn't tell them about that's it for his marriage. That's it for some of his kids. That's a big deal," she said.
Meanwhile, "Finding Carter" executive producer Emily Whitesell recently told TV Line that answers about Ben's real identity and whether or not David was aware of Lori's secret will all be addressed during the first episodes for the upcoming second half of Season 2. Whitesell also talked about Ben and how his story will unfold starting October.
"He didn't know. He was subpoenad. They'd been looking for him for a very long time, and Lori will claim she'd been looking for him for years, so he'll have his own resentments over everything," she said.
Prescott added in a separate interview that Carter and Ben will have a lot of things in common and this could lead to them uniting and being close in the second half of Season 2.
