Victoria Hagan, Interior Designer, opened her house to the public which is located in Nantucket, Massachusetts.
In an article of Architectural Digest, Hagan has been summering in Nantucket since she was a teenager, and she has crafted several residences for clients on the island. Also, in 2010, she found a three-acre parcel on the eastern shore, with beautiful open views of the Atlantic, Sesachacha Pond, and Sankaty Head lighthouse.
As mentioned in the article, she said: "The way to succeed with the HDC is to work with them. I decided I would treat them like a client and listen to what they wanted, and it made such a difference. Sometimes when you feel like you're compromising over small details, you can focus on that and lose sight of the big picture-and the joy."
The article added the she also aligned her expectations with the mandates of the island's strict construction regulations. She added: "I'm always looking for what feels right. This is a beach house, and I wanted it to feel that way."
Hagan made a blue print and arranged the living room. She mentioned, ""I love that you can walk right into the living room." The article also cited that she made it a living room to savor. It's the core of the house, with lots of comfortable seating, a pair of doors to the terraces, and an abundance of large sash windows facing north and south.

The New York Times described her work as "the most cerebral, the one bound to be influential," and she continues to be a major force in the design community, as mentioned in her own website. Also, the article added that in 2004, she was inducted into the Interior Design Hall of Fame and included in Architectural Digest's "Top 100." Also, in .2006, she was named Furniture Designer of the Year by Elle.
