‘Indiana Jones 5’ Release Date, Spoilers and Plot Update: Is the Movie Coming in 2018?

According to the report, a new Indiana Jones film is coming. LucasFilm President, Kathleen Kennedy has now finally confirmed that they will produce 'Indiana Jones 5' however no details were provided yet. There were some rumors that the target date for the release of the movie is on 2018.

Based on the report from Christian Today news, there are still no stories or scripts that are currently in development, Kennedy and Alan Horn, Disney Chairman jointly stated. Also, Frank Marshall, the LucasFilm producer and Kennedy's husband said that there are no discussions about the new Indiana Jones movie at the moment.

Right now, everybody at Lucasfilm is focused on launching a new generation of Star Wars films. Kennedy confirmed though that the new Indiana Jones would be also made under the LucasFilm and Disney banner.

There was also no confirmation yet about how will the new Indiana Jones will be made. Will it be the fifth entry to the sequel "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls"  or will it be a reboot that will be starring a new actor in the titular role?

According to  Movieweb, Steven Spielberg had directed all four movies in the franchise, starting with 1981's "Raiders of the Lost Ark", 1984's :Indiana Jones & the Temple of Doom:, 1989's "Indiana Jones & the Last Crusade" and 2008's "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull."

Chris Pratt is the current top choice for the role of Dr. Henry because timing-wise, as "Jurassic World" has been a massive success. There were also speculations that Bradley Cooper might also be the one who will play the role.

It feels like there's the beginning of movement for Indy. Who will write the script? Who will be the lead actor? Will Steven Spielberg also direct the new movie? We don't have the answers for those questions right now. Let's just wait for the updates that will be out on the next coming days.
