[Update] Anakin Skywalker Actor Jake Lloyd Suffering from Schizophrenia

The troubled young Darth Vader actor's nightmare is apparently far from over as he was diagnosed with Schizophrenia after South Carolina local police apprehended him while trying to avoid arrest, TMZ reported. Jake Lloyd who played the young Anakin Skywalker (the future Darth Vader) in the first offering of the second Star Wars trilogy was later known to suffer from schizophrenia and went off his medicine that has led into attacking his own mother before his run-in with the police recently.

According to the Indianapolis Metro Police Department, a call was made in March 26 reporting an assault. During an interview with Lloyd's mother, she said that Jake has schizophrenia and was off his prescribed medicines. She also said that the young Lloyd appeared in her home and began yelling at her saying how she ruined his life. The older Lloyd did not allow the violent young-adult that resulted to the assault. The report said that Jake knocked her mother down and stomped on her three or four times causing abrasions and bruises on her arm.

The young actor is gone when authorities showed up and the Lloyd matriarch has declined to press charges against her troubled son.

Lisa (Jake's mother) confirmed in an interview that Jake began to show early signs of the mental illness when he was 19. She also said that Jake has gotten help in the past and the family has plans to get him help again after he's released from the charges he is currently facing.

To add, naturally as a mother, Lisa said that despite of the assault, she is not seeing Jake as a violent person.

RealtyToday reported on the driving incident that has resulted to Lloyd's incarceration. The report said that he was spotted driving recklessly on high speed that prompted the authorities to apprehend the vehicle. However, instead of stopping, the car sped off and the high speed chase began. The movie-like chase ended when Lloyd lost control of his car that eventually led him to crash into a wooded area of the area.
