Maleficent Sequel Rumors: Is Angelina Jolie Returning for Disney's Maleficent 2?

Well, well, well, Maleficent is going to be back! But is Angelina Jolie returning to star as the Mistress of all Evil?

According to Deadline, Disney is working toward the 2014 hit's sequel, and the studio has tapped Linda Woolverton to write the sequel. Disney is also keeping Jolie in the loop, and the sequel's script will be for her to reprise. Joe Roth returns as the film's producer, but Robert Stromberg's comeback to the film is still unclear. Stromberg is an Oscar-winning production designer who also made his directing debut. As of the moment, no contract has been made between Jolie and Disney, according to E! Online, but the 'Salt' star definitely enjoyed playing the malevolent Maleficent.

"I loved being Maleficent," Jolie, 40, told EW in March 2014, reports US magazine. "I was quite sad to put my staff down and put my horns away because somehow, she just lives in a different world," she added. "But I did have to take my staff home to practice walking with it in my cloak, and then I would go outside and scream at the bushes to expand my voice and play with my voice. So, Mom was a bit nutso for a period."

Deadline reports that the fairytale hit was worth $180 million but received payback worldwide with nearly a magnificent $760 million.

So what does hubby Brad Pitt think about Jolie's character?

"I don't know! You know, I never asked him. He thinks she's cool," Jolie said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly

The couple's kids, Pax, Zahara, and young Princess Aurora Vivienne, also participated in the film by doing cameos, reports E! Online

"The idea of that day was the prince and princesses from around the world show up for the christening, so there will people of all races, all creeds. It was Pax and his teacher, who is Vietnamese, playing the Vietnamese Queen and Prince and then Zahara and her teacher playing the African or Nubian queen and princess. I love that christening scene so much and of course we've watched it at home [in the animated film] as a family. I had to walk by them being very mean. Of course, I wanted to stop and wink at them," says Jolie.

'Maleficent' may not have been a massive success were it not for Jolie. Let's keep our hopes up in having Jolie in the movie's sequel.
