‘Transformers 5' News: Michael Bay Might Come Back to Direct Next Transformers Movie

Michael Bay's 'Transformers: Age of Extinction' has been declared as the highest grossing film of 2014. It is now a big question whether Bay will also be directing the upcoming Transformers 5 or whether another hand will take care of the movie.

Mark Wahlberg, the actor who played the character of mechanic and inventor Cade Yeager, confirmed that he will return for the upcoming two consecutive sequels of the movie, and he is expecting that Bay will end up directing Transformers 5.

Before the 'Age of Extinction' hit theaters, there were speculations as to who would take over the franchise for its following release, whether Bay or a new team. The Collider quoted, "A few months following the film's premiere, the director said, he might "pass the baton" to a different filmmaker in an effort to take his career in a new direction."

Bay is still on board as executive producer. According to a report by Master Herald, Bay clarified that he has come back to franchise and not to be the Transformers' director. He will also be the consultant to oversee the creation of the 'writer's room,' to be headed by Akiva Goldsman.

Paramount Pictures upgrades the new sequel of Transformers by employing a whole team of writers. Based on International Business Times, there has been a rumor that the leader of the Autobots, Optimus Prime, will have a huge showdown with the Quintessons.

If this movie falls on a different director's hand, sci-fi fans will hope to see a new different side of Transformers. But huge fans of the previous Transformers films will be likely to expect Bay returning to helm Transformers 5. But the decision will be set unclosed until the writers have finished the script.

This action-packed sci-fi movie is expected to hit the big screen next year, no confirmed date yet.
