Michael Jackson House: Neverland Ranch For Sale For $100M

Located in scenic Los Olivos, CA, Neverland Ranch is a place where fun and laughter should have reigned. The 2,700-acre property once owned by the late King of Pop is now for sale for $100 million, according to a report from la.curbed.com. The prime property has been listed by Suzanne Perkins of Sotheby's International Realty together with Harry Kolb of Sotheby's and Jeffrey Hyland of Hilton and Hyland.

The property, now named Sycamore Valley Ranch according to Perkins, has gone a major renovation, with many of the rides and other entertainment features removed, states a report from the Wall Street Journal. However, there are structures of the old ranch that still remain, such as the iconic floral clock that spells out "Neverland," the firehouse which once housed a full staff of Neverland Valley Fire Department as well as the railroad tracks and train station that were built upon the instructions of the late Michael Jackson.

The main house on the property sits between two lakes and boasts a Normandy design. According to a report from marketwatch.com, the floor area covers about 12,000 square feet, composed of six bedrooms and the attendant staff quarters. There's also a four-bedroom guesthouse and another guesthouse with two bedrooms on the property. Property amenities include a swimming pool with a cabana, a barbecue area, and basketball and tennis courts. A 50-seater movie theater with a private viewing balcony and a stage with trap doors, specifically designed for magic shows, is also available.

According to Perkins, the ranch will not become another Graceland, the former home of Elvis Presley that was turned into a museum. "We're not going to give tours," she said.

Neverland Ranch was purchased by Jackson back in 1987 for $19.5 million and made it his "personal playland." It was later bought by Colony Capital in 2008 for $23 million and made it a joint property with Jackson. Jackson died in 2009 from cardiac arrest due to a doctor-induced drug overdose.
