NBA Update: Rockets Stay Alive in Western Conference Finals

The resilient Houston Rockets, down three to none in the NBA Western Conference Finals, lives to fight another day as they beat the Golden State Warriors 128 to 115 in the fourth game of the series. In a report from bleacherreport.com, the Rockets needed timely shots from its superstar James Harden to fight off the Warriors in the fourth quarter of the game.

NBA MVP runner Harden, known as the Beard, scattered 45 points including seven three pointers to seal the game. Unlike in the first three games, Houston's bench came alive with six others netting double figures, with Josh Smith making 20 points, Trevor Ariza had 17, and Dwight Howard with 14 points.

Howard though may face further sanctions for elbowing Warriors center Andrew Bogut in the face.

Current MVP and Warriors guard Stephen Curry had a nasty fall late in the second quarter, requiring him to undergo tests as he fell on his back and right hand after going for a block and was undercut by Rockets forward Trevor Ariza. According to a report from si.com, Curry lay on the court for an extended period before being able to walk to the locker room on his own. He underwent tests and returned to the game midway of the third quarter.

In a post game report from espn.go.com, Curry said of the fall, "That was the worst (fall ever) because you're in the air for a long time. And not knowing how you're going to hit the floor, knowing that it's going to happen, it's inevitable, but you're up there just trying to brace yourself."

Despite suffering from a head contusion, Curry netted 23 points. His fellow Splash Brother, Klay Thompson, led the Warriors with 24 points. Draymond Green put in 21 points and 15 rebounds, five blocks and four assists before exiting the game with six fouls.

The series returns to Oracle Arena in Oakland, CA, the home of the Warriors at 9 pm ET on May 27 for Game 5 of the series.
