‘Captain America 3: Civil War’ Plot & Cast: New Promo Art Teases Iron Man & Cap Fight; Doctor Strange, Black Panther, Spider-Man & Inhumans to Make Cameo?

"Captain America 3: Civil War" will be kicking off phase three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or MCU, while the recently premiered "Avengers 2: Age of Ultron" and upcoming "Ant-Man" will be closing phase two. Famous tipster, El Mayimbe, who is more famous on social media as Umberto Gonzales, just unveiled a new promo art for the upcoming Marvel blockbuster.

He posted the now-trending photo on Instagram and captioned it with "Boom!" The promo art showed Captain America and Iron Man in battle. However, there remains no confirmation on whether the picture was official or simply made by an artistic fan.

Keeping up with the friendly competition between Marvel and DC, the "Captain America 3: Civil War" promo art is now compared to the artwork obtained from the "special" extra footage when the IMAX trailer of "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" first hit big screens. According to Screen Rant, Batman and Superman were posed quite similarly with Captain America and Iron Man

This similar juxtaposition of these superheroes, despite coming from two different cinematic universes, somehow feeds the rivalry especially since both films were originally slated for the same May 6, 2016 release date. Eventually, DC decided to move the premiere date for "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" to March 25, 2016 instead. Although it may sound like the competition is getting more serious, it is actually pretty good for the business of both studios.

It is no secret that "Captain America 3: Civil War" will be featuring a whole lot of the Avengers - as it is even considered as "Avengers 2.5." Still, Marvel might opt to up the ante and include cameo appearances from Spider-Man, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, and some members of the Inhuman community.

Since the third installment of the "Captain America" franchise is going to involve different governments of the world mandating a law for either hunting down or coercing "enhanced" beings for service or detention, it will be interesting to know how these abovementioned characters come into play. Adding them into the mix will certainly be an interesting development for the MCU as a whole.

Sadly, the participation of Hulk, played by Mark Ruffalo, in the upcoming "Captain America" film is still hanging in the balance. While waiting for confirmation on whether the filmmakers will make the film without the green mutant, it is possible that General "Thunderbolt" Ross is going to be part of it.

William Hurt, who had once played Ross in the "Incredible Hulk" in 2008, was reportedly spotted in Atlanta with the rest of the cast of "Captain America 3: Civil War," according to Cosmic Book News.
