Montana Ranch Used in Oscar-Winning Film and Brad Pitt-Starrer, Gets a $3.5M Price Cut

A Montana ranch owned by former Dell CFO Tom Meredith, used in the Oscar-winning film and Brad Pitt-starrer, "A River Runs Through It" (1992), gets a $3.5M price cut, reports Los Angeles Times.

Meredith, who formerly listed the 612-acre Ovando, Montana, ranch in 2013 for $15M, is now selling the property for only $11.5M

The Montana estate, located along the banks of the Big Blackfoot River, boasts a 5,000 sq.ft. mansion blending modern technology with rustic appeal. The mansion featured in the film directed by topnotch Oscar-winning director, Robert Redford, includes four bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, a clubhouse, a century-old restored barn and a stable, describes LA Times. The spacious clubhouse measuring 4,300 sq.ft, showcases a modern kitchen, intricately-designed wet bar and a game room, adds the site.

Outside, there is a stone fireplace for a relaxed ambiance during long talks and an outdoor kitchen to let you cook your day's catch. There is also an outdoor shower for you to quickly freshen up from some adventures like horse-riding or fishing, says the news site.

Keith Lenard of Hall and Hall isthe agent who is currently handling its listing, notes The Wall Street Journal. Lenard told WSJ that the mansion is also adorned with rustic log materials, "wood floors with distressed blue-paint finishes and barn wood and tin-roof wainscoting." He detailed that the master suite has its own patio and a "corrugated tin shower stall." He mentioned that the details involved in creating the massive clubhouse was inspired by 1930s Chicago appeal. Aside from the six-stall stable outside, there is also a laundry area, notes WSJ.

Meredith reportedly purchased the land more than 15 years ago in a "complicated transaction." The upgrades Meredith implemented took half a decade to finish, the agent told WSJ.
