Spice Girls Reunion Happening? Mel B Talks 2016 20th Anniversary

Spice Girls fans may be in for a treat in 2016. As the former girl group nears its 20th anniversary, one Spice Girl has teased the possibility of a reunion.

According to E! News, the 39-year-old Mel B spoke about the possibility that they'd get together to celebrate the milestone.

"I mean, we got together for the Olympics and nobody thought that we were going to get together for that," quoted the outlet of Mel during the O.P.I. nail polish event at House of Polish.

"Next year is our 20th anniversary so we'll see. Maybe we'll do something. Who knows?"

When asked if the girls have discussed the possibility recently, the "America's Got Talent" judge answered in a coy but positive manner.

"We talk a lot and we text and we Facetime. I was just Facetiming Geri [Halliwell] the other day, she's about to get married so we're going to go over to England for her wedding."

Prior to this, in 2007, the girls had their first reunion tour titled, "The Return of the Spice Girls." The most recent performance was a one-off production for the The last time the ladies got together was for the 2012 London Summer Olympics.

This isn't the first time we've heard about this possibility. Bandmates of Mel also spoke about its possibilities on separate occasions.

Independent recalled Mel C making similar remarks, "It's funny isn't it because people are saying it's the 20 year anniversary of The Spice Girls, and we did get together in '94, but Wannabe wasn't released until '96 so we don't really see it until '96."

"And you might see a few of us having a little dance about on stage, no plans, but we'll see what we can do for you," she added.

Last month Emma also spoke about a 2016 event. Per The Daily Star, Bunton said, "I was with Geri [Halliwell] and Mel B just recently, we love each other and we love performing together." She continued saying, "It's just when the timing is right because we all have our own careers now and we have families, it's just about getting five schedules together and that's all it is."

The Spice Girls were a popular British all-female pop group which was composed of Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm and Victoria Beckham.

Brown insists that the girls are still great friends and talk all the time. She described their friendship to HuffPost to be like that of siblings.

"We were just five crazy ladies on a mission. I love the fact that I can still have that passion and drive in different things I do today. I still have the backing of all of them today."

"It's nice. We're like one big, happy family."
