Former Arizona Diamondbacks GM Kevin Towers Relists Phoenix Home With $375K Price Cut

Former Arizona Diamondbacks GM Kevin Towers has relisted his Phoenix home for $1,875,000, $375K less than its original asking price of $2.25M in 2013, reports Realtor.com.

The Towers ranch-style home that measures almost 5,900 sq.ft. is said to contain five bedrooms, 5.5 baths and offers a magnificent view of the Camelback Mountain. It even includes a wine room, notes Realtor.com. Would-be buyers will enjoy the spacious grounds boasting a fountain and a swimming pool.

However, the real charm of the Phoenix home lies on the details like the floors showcasing reclaimed wood from a century-old Mexican ship, hand-carved kitchen cabinets and hand-cast roof-tiles, Business Journal writes. Aside from these, the home features mosaic tiles and stained glass that suits a buyer who loves Spanish designs. Truly, one who appreciates craftsmanship and passion for art will find Towers' home a rare treasure.

According to Realtor.com, Towers' current listing agent is Patty Camp Schmid.

Towers signed with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2010 and he guided the team to its first division title since 2007, the 2011 NL West crown, notes ESPN.

However, the team eventually showed poor performance under Towers who also had some deals which "didn't pan out," adds the outlet. Thus, in September last year, just a few months after Tony La Russa came in as Arizona's chief baseball officer, Towers was cut from the team.

"Over the past three months, I have had the opportunity to evaluate all aspects of our baseball operations and have decided to restructure our staff in order to improve our decision-making process. I have the utmost respect for Kevin and a friendship with him that dates back many years which has allowed me to appreciate his talents and experience, " La Russa was quoted as saying.

Although there were several injuries that hindered the team in his last season, Towers graciously accepted the decision.

"When I took this job in 2010, we wanted to win a World Series and we won very early here, set high standards for ourselves. Since 2011, we haven't met the standards that we hoped, ownership had hoped for and our fan base hoped for, and ultimately I'm going to be held accountable for that. Wish we could have stayed healthy and enjoyed success year after year, but this season was a very trying year and when you don't meet expectations, things like this happen -- and I know that," Towers reportedly said.

To further prove how he doesn't mix personal issues with business, do you know who his current tenant is? It's no other than the new Diamondbacks GM, Dave Stewart, a former MLB All-Star and 1989 World Series MVP who also happens to be Towers friend, says Realtor.com.
