'Good Luck Chuck' Producer Barry Katz Sold Malibu Home for $2.25M

Barry Katz, producer of the comedy film "Good Luck Chuck" starring Jessica Alba, has just sold his Malibu home for nearly $2.25M, reports Los Angeles Times.

The outlet says that the producer profited around a quarter of a million dollars from the sale of the home he bought in 2008.

Built in 1979, Katz former home reportedly offers the new homeowners sweeping views of relaxing water and magnificent mountains. The modern Malibu home featuring spanning windows gives a spectacular light-filled ambiance perfect for a family retreat.

The ocean-view home measuring more than 3,000 sq. ft. of living area includes four bedrooms, three baths, a living and dining complex, a breakfast room and a home office, notes LA Times. Outside, the outlet adds that the home, resting on one acre of land, boasts well-maintained gardens and a luxurious swimming pool equipped with spa.

The Malibu estate also promises a wonderful getaway and a comfortable place to stay at the same time with features like an oceanview bar and a master bedroom with a fireplace for a good night sleep.

The home, originally listed for $2.5M, as announced in another article on LA Times, was just sold in three months by listing agents, Chad Rogers of Hilton & Hyland, an affiliate of Christie's International Real Estate, and Tracy Lynn Testin of Sotheby's International Realty. The agent who represented the buyer was also Tracy Testin.

Unknown to some, the producer, who found his calling in creating comedy films, has earned a college degree "specializing in working with the disabled" from Boston University, says IMDB. According to the database, the successful producer was behind the creation of "My Best Friend's Girl, " ABC's "The Next Best Thing," and the Emmy-nominated "Last Comic Standing," a series from NBC.

IMDB notes that Katz started as a comedian in the business which made him love producing comedy.

In 2013, PRWeb announced that Katz was the first producer to have launched a podcast titled, "Industry Standard by Barry Katz," produced by Fake Mustache Studios. In the project, Katz interviews celebrities and famous names in the enteratinment business to talk and give advice to listeners.

His guesting in the successful podcast "Mohr Stories" of the same production paved way for his own podcast, notes PRWeb.

"It quickly became evident, that the listeners responded in a huge way to Barry's sage advice about the business, which relates to people of all walks of life. In all the shows we have done together, there hasn't been one negative comment and he is consistently the most listened to guest I have featured since I started Mohr Stories. It became clear with every show we did together that I would be remiss if I didn't offer him the opportunity to host his own show," said Jay Mohr, host of "Mohr Stories."
