'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie: 'Darker' Cast Adds 'New Girl' Star Max Greenfield? Actor Talks Film Role [Rumors]

There has been a lot of talk regarding the production of the "Fifty Shades of Grey" sequel and new reports indicate we could be seeing another familiar face on the big screen.

Reporting on the development of the second movie, Enstarz shares  that conflicts surrounding the "Fifty Shades Darker" have been laid to rest with many concerns having been settled. Now, a new deal has been reached and casting is said to have been finalized. 

"New Girl" actor Max Greenfield has been hoping to be a part of the erotic-romance film. Us Weekly has recently shared that the hilarious actor recently spoke about playing a role for the franchise.

"Are there any major blockbusters that I'd want to join? You know, I'm just looking to get into that Fifty Shades of Grey," said the 34-year-old actor. "Maybe I could be the 51st Shade? I don't know, that's definitely a move I'm looking to make."

The actor has definitely got some experience with regards to the sexy side of acting. Aside from his raunchy persona in "New Girl," he also played the role on "The O.C." as the young Sandy Cohen.

"The heat that I gave off from a young Sandy Cohen is the kind of heat that I would bring to a 51st Shade of Grey," Greenfield said with a grin.

In the past Greenfield has talked about being in the movie. Back in 2012, E! Online recalls how the celebrity was rumored to be up for a sex-driven role that will involve nudity.

"Yeah, that's not a problem," said Schmidt to Giuliana Rancic. "That's not the issue. It's the issue of whether they wanna see that much intensity onscreen, because that's what I plan to bring," he continued.

Per sources, the stars of the upcoming film -- Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan -- have been told to prepare for production that begins in early 2016 as the film is slated for a undetermined 2017 release date.

As reported earlier, the production of the sequel, "Fifty Shades Darker" has been dealing with some setbacks that include the departure of director Sam Taylor-Johnson as well as failure to reach an agreement on salaries.

In addition to Johnson and Dornan, it's also rumored that model-turned-actress Cara Delevingne will be part of the second film which are based on the books of British author E.L. James.

"Fifty Shades of Grey" was released just this past Valentine's and has since grossed over 500 million worldwide.
