‘Sherlock’ Season 4 Air Date & Premiere: Major Surprises in Store in Sequel? ‘Doctor Who’ Crossover Could Happen [Rumors]

“Sherlock” might crossover with “Doctor Who” sometime soon. Although simply having the same producer for two different TV shows does not necessarily mean anything, Steven Moffatt verbalized that he could make a crossover happen “if people want to.”

“We should give it to them,” Moffatt told Entertainment Weekly. “But, I got persuaded by Mark, Benedict, and Martin, saying, ‘Look, it will never be as good as they think it is going to be.’ And then, I say, ‘Yes, but we will just bang it out and make it as good.’”

“‘Yeah, but you cannot give everybody everything they want all the time,’” he said, referring to what his colleagues would tell him about a crossover between “Doctor Who” and “Sherlock.” According to Moffatt, he has always rooted for his fans, wanting to give them every single thing they want to see on the show. However, he does admit that he is well aware that it could not always be done.

“I think they are sane and right,” he added. “I am just a tart.”

Although it may seem like a crossover of the main series is not completely doable at the moment, Geek Snack is convinced that a Christmas special could be done. According to the article, there might be certain issues that have to be worked out but fans are confident that show runners can make the special episode happen.

After all, it has already been previously reported that a special Christmas episode will be airing before “Sherlock” Season 4 begins by early 2016.

With regard the Season 4 of “Sherlock,” Moffatt would only tease the fans and say that the show will be taking a much “darker turn.” It remains unclear whether he was joking but he did indicate that one of the significant characters of the show is going to get killed off. Since this statement, fans of the show have been speculating that it could be Mary Watson since she also dies in the books.

“We have a plan to top last season,” Moffatt said, according to Venture Capital Post. “And, I do think our plan is devastating. We practically reduced our cast to tears by telling them the plan. We are certainly going to put our fans through the mill. It is going to be more of an emotional upheaval.”

“There are some answers coming to questions nobody has asked,” he added. “We are very exultant about a little thing we have set up that no one has talked about.”
