Zayn Malik Album 2015: First Solo Single Released? No, ‘I Won’t Mind’ Song was Originally for One Direction Album!

Zayn Malik’s new song, “I Won’t Mind,” was just released by Naughty Boy almost a full week after he decided to leave the band One Direction. However, fans started to freak out when it turned out that the song was actually not supposed to be his first track as a solo artist as it was reportedly written for 1D.

Naughty Boy and Malik recorded the demo last year as a track that could possibly make it to the band’s upcoming album, “Four.” Now that Malik upped and left the group, the song suddenly made its way to the Internet.

“It is important fans know this is not a solo Zayn song or even representative of material he might record in the future,” the representative of 1D told Daily Mail. “If you listen to the track, it is clearly a song written with One Direction in mind for their last album. It is not new, nor is it a Zayn Malik solo track.”

“They are not furiously working on his solo material or anything,” he added. “There are no plans for anything and this was not recorded in the last few days. They are very good friends and Zayn is taking time out, including visiting Naughty Boy at his studio and hanging out.”

Now that 1D’s rep confirmed that Malik has not been working on songs for his own album, his fans are left to wonder if they can expect music from him or from his collaboration with Naughty Boy sometime soon. “Nothing is imminent” is the only response the rep would provide.

Still, Naughty Boy’s hash tags were a bit cryptic. He added some interesting to hash tags to his link on SoundCloud such as #2016, # zaughty, and #zindabad. These may have caused the fans to believe that Malik’s new solo career might be launched sometime next year. However, the band’s rep was quite adamant in saying that “nothing is planned as yet.”

The rest of One Direction is reportedly “looking forward to recording their new album,” according to Billboard. A day after the band took the stage in South Africa, Niall Horan took to Twitter to tell his fans and followers that they were going to start on “Four” pretty soon.

“Had a sit down last night with the label,” Horan wrote. “Started organizing our writing sessions for the next album! F*** yeaaaaaaahhhh! Cannot wait!”
