iPhone 6C, iPhone 6S, iPhone 7 Release Date & Price: Next Gen Smartphone Confirmed? Images & Specs Leaked Online [Rumors]

What is next for Apple's iPhone product line? New leaks have teased audiences of a possible multi-model release for the upcoming iPhone.

While people are still trying to get their hands on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, this 2015, new photos have hit the web of what may be the iPhone 6C.

Per MacRumors, a Chinese parts supplier posted what seems to be the rear shell of an "iPhone 6C."

In the photos, we see a colorful plastic casing similar to that of the iPhone 5C released. There are two obvious changes based on the image, the first being the altered LED cutout which will become pill-shaped as opposed to the iPhone 5C' circular shape. Secondly, we see unlike the earlier single row of four holes in the iPhone 5C, the alleged 6C case has two rows of speakers on each side of the charging port, one with four per row and another with three.

The site notes that the minor changes are indicative of minor alteration and the iPhone 6C may have the same internal specs as the two-generation-old device.

Following last year's release of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, Apple didn't refresh the product line in 2014 which led to the public believing that the product series may have been discontinued.

2015 Apple iPhones

The leak follows last week's reports of a three-model 2015 release. Aside from the standard iPhone and larger phablet, we could see a 4-inch iPhone 6C being released, shared 9to5Mac.

Rumors indicate that Apple is gearing up for the three-model release and has already contracted its displays from Japan Display, LG Display and Sharp. Those hoping for sapphire glass will probably wait a bit longer with Apple reportedly shelving the feature for now.

Aside from the size and physical appearance, the other major difference between the three devices include its processors. The high-end devices will feature Apple's A9 processor while the budget device will sport the older A8 chip as well as lower camera specs.

Based on an analysis of TechRadar, they may be an untapped market that this budget iPhone would cater to. For those who want a simpler iPhone or one that isn't so large, the rumored iPhone 6C is ideal. Also, those who don't want to shell out for the high-end devices or want a premium feel, the affordable option is definitely welcoming.

The upcoming iPhones have yet to be officially confirmed by the Cupertino-based company. There are rumors that the next-gen smartphone will be dubbed either the iPhone 6S or the iPhone 7.

In terms of price, no official rates have been pegged but may follow the price points of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus begin at $199 and $299 respectively when tied in with a two-year contract with carriers. However, contract free options begin at $649.
