'LG G4' Release Date, Specs & Rumors: Two Phones Dropping Soon? Yes Says New Report [Rumors]

With each new year comes new smartphones and as we enter 2015's second quarter, LG is expected to release its newest flagship device within weeks. 

According to a new report by GottaBeMobile, following the recent release of the HTC One M9 and the Samsung Galaxy S6, unlike last year, LG is looking to compete directly with its rivals this time around. In 2014, the firm's flagship device, the LG G3, was announced towards the end of the May hit the shelves over a month later. In 2015, LG is said to be speeding up production with its newest devices due out sooner than expected. 

Per the KoreaHerald (via CNet), the LG G4 could launch as early as next month. The publication claims that sources close to the firm indicate a launch before April come to a close and within a month, be available for public consumption.

"LG expects to sell nearly 10 million LG G4 smartphones in 2015, and that could be achieved by a faster release compared to the device revealed last year. Their sources claim they've confirmed the screen will sport the same 5.5-inch 2560 x 1440 Quad-HD resolution, but have a slight curve to it, similar to the leaked image above," detailed the website. 

The new curved design aims to give users a more natural feel when holding the smartphone, noted PhoneArena. Further, other physical changes include a texture alteration for the device's rear panel that will minimize slippery holds, redesigned volume keys and the change from a circular power button to an oval design.  

LG G4 and Larger G4 Note 

Aside from the rumors regarding the release date and device features, LG is also said to be heading towards a dual-model release. BGR shared that per leakers, The G4 device may be accompanied by a G4 Note phablet that will be in direct competition with Apple's iPhone 6 Plus and Samsung's Galaxy Note series.

Recent leaked images released by an alleged T-Mobile employee, the Note device will come with a handy stylus and bear G-series physical characteristics including bezel sidings, a slim frame and buttons at the back of the smartphone. 

"It's not clear at this time when LG will unveil the G4 and G4 Note smartphones or whether the company will have two different high-end G4 versions in stores," added the site.
