'Microsoft Surface Pro 4' 4G LTE Release Date, Rumors & News: Wireless Charging Confirmed? Nope, Says New Report [Rumors]

Microsoft's popular laplet, the Microsoft Surface Pro 3, released lat year is expected to come up with an upgraded model within 2015.

While there have been a lot of speculation regarding the features of the rumored device, a new report indicates one desirable feature will most likely not be available. According to PC World, while Skylake and Microsoft are working towards an overhaul of the computing experience, wireless charging for the Surface Pro 4 isn't a given.

"Microsoft already markets a number of wireless charging accessories for its Lumia phones, but I'm not entirely convinced that a Surface will ever include that feature. Consider the geometry: A Surface tablet is generally propped at an angle, while wireless charging works best when the tablet lays flat against the charger," analyzed the site.

This supports the earlier reported comments of Microsoft product manager regarding the compatibility of accessories to maximize consumer investment in the Surface Pro line.

"We understand that for businesses to invest in Surface Pro 3, they need clarity on our commitment to hardware and accessories over time, so they can responsibly manage their investment choices. We have kept our roadmap plans close to the vest, as we needed to properly land new Surface products in a competitive market. But we've always said that we have a roadmap of products," explained Brian Hall, General Manager for the Surface line, as quoted by the company's official Blog.

Without revealing what's next for the Surface line, Hall adds that with Microsoft's place in the market having been established, "...we are pleased to share that the following Surface Pro 3 accessoriesare designed with our product roadmap in mind and will be compatible with the next generation of the 'Pro' line of Surface." Core accessories like the Type Covers, adapters, Docking Station and more will remain compatible across the product line.

With this statement, we see that internal hardware and additional accessories may be added to the Pro 4 but we can expect that the structure will remain, for the most part, consistent with the Surface Pro 3.
