NBA Players Homes: Inside LeBron James, Chris Bosh & More Mansions

For many of our favorite basketball players and the many athletes, in general, a good chunk of their time is spent in the gym and other training facilities, and even on the road. Getting the much needed rest like a long and laidback staycation in their own cribs is one luxury they can't afford, albeit their mind-boggling paychecks.

But, that doesn't mean these guys are skimping when it comes to investing on upmarket real estate properties. They make a killing out of their playing contracts, and they are making good use of it by buying luxury homes in the most coveted zip codes in the country.

In 2013, Deron Williams, the star court general for the Brooklyn Nets, has purchased a Manhattan penthouse for a whopping $15.8 million. This Merchants House top unit is originally listed at $16.9 million and located at the prime real estate block of Tribeca in New York City according to Elliman Listing via the New York Curbed. You can see more of the posh pad here.

The six bedroom, 4.5 bathroom penthouse is perched on a 6,800 square foot space atop the building. This unit is the result of two apartments that links the north and south wings for the exclusive use of the owner. It also has 3,000 square feet of outdoor area with a small lagoon.

When he decided to leave for Miami back in 2010, Lebron James bought a Coconut Grove mansion in Florida for $9 million. After four NBA seasons playing in South Beach, King James returned to his hometown, and listed the mansion for $17 million in October last year. He then reduced the price to $15 million.

The waterfront estate has 6 beds and 8.5 baths. You can view images of the King's palace in this listing. The place has its own sommelier's wine cellar, custom theater, and a sundeck at the rooftop for the owner.

Chris Bosh may have deferred from his alpha dog role in Toronto when he played alongside Lebron James and Dwyane Wade in Miami, but Business Insider dubbed Chris Bosh as the King when it comes to real estate amongst his peers.

In an article last year by the Bleacher Report, Bosh listed his California mansion in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood for $14.5 million. He bought the property in 2012, and has since rented it out for $45,000 monthly. The mansion has an infinity pool and an island deck to go with it.

He also has a Florida luxury mansion which he purchased for well over $12 million as reported by the LA Times. He also has three properties in Texas; a Ritz-Carlton condominium unit in Dallas and two estates in Desoto. The Miami Heat franchise player inked a five-year, $118 million contract in 2014.

Meanwhile, his Miami Heat superstar pal, Dwyane Wade owns an $8.9 million front bay villa located at La Gorce Island which is known for its utmost exclusivity. The Mediterranean-designed mansion has eight huge bedrooms and 9.5 baths scattered across its 13,000 square foot living space. The South Florida property is equipped with its own tennis court and a guest house. Look at the house here.

Early last year, Business Insider reported about the listing of one of Michael Jordan's luxury properties for $16 million. The Highland Park, Illinois mansion was originally listed at a hefty price of $29 million before the generous cut was made.

In these photos of the Chicago Bulls superstar mansion, a tennis court, a big fish pond, and a mini golf course can be seen. Inside the mansion, you can find a door from the Playboy Mansion, a "Baghdad table", and a "skylight" glass roof that opens down into the dining area.

RealtyToday also reported about the newly-purchased $2 million Texas mansion by Houston Rockets main man, James Harden. The Royal Oaks Country Club estate has Mediterranean design with huge bedrooms and expansive living area. It also has its own game and movie rooms.
