Rihanna New Song 'R8' Album, Tracklist & Release Date: RiRi & J.Lo Duet Confirmed?

Fans are eager to get their hands -- and ears -- on Rihanna's new studio album known as "R8" but the release details remain unknown.

While a release date hasn't been unveiled, there has been speculation regarding who may be featured in the 27-year-old singer's new album. Some artists rumored to make an appearance on the album include Sam Smith, Kanye West, Drake, Nicki Minaj and more.

Now, through MTV, we've learned that Rihanna is interested in collaborating with "American Idol" judge Jennifer Lopez.

The good news is that the two popstars already have a working relationship that they can build on. The singers/ actresses recently worked together on animated film, "Home." Following the project where the ladies lent their voices to the movie's characters, could we see a studio recording in the near future?

Master Herald recently reported that the "Cheers" would like to record a new track with the 45-year-old "Booty" singer but is aware she isn't in the same league as J.Lo in the buttocks department.

Lopez Willing to Collaborate?

It seems the respect between the two artists is mutual as J.Lo has already mentioned she's definitely willing to work on a track with RiRi. According to E! News, the "Selena" star praised the Barbadian singer and admitted she's a fan of the powerhouse celebrity.

"I'm a huge Rihanna fan...and I feel like she's such a girl's girl, which I love, because I'm a girl's girl and she seems very sweet," quoted the site of Lopez. "And I love the edginess about her and I think she did a really great job in this film."

When Jennifer was asked if she'd be pen to a duet with the "FourFiveSeconds" star, Marc Anthony's ex-wife replied with an emphatic, "Absolutely! Who wouldn't?!"

Rihanna' Eighth Album

Nearly a year ago, Vulture recalled how RiRi left her label Def Jams for Jay Z's Roc Nation and will be releasing her newest album under the new label. Since then we've heard reports about new songs, studio work with other artists and Rihanna's use of the hashtag #R8.

To further strengthen the possibility of an upcoming album launch, "We haven't got our club record just yet but we have a ballad that I really like and that she likes too. I did a couple of songs with her, we're still working, we're still in the early stages, trying to come together with a massive record," confirmed DJ Mustard September of last year.

It's believed that after two-and-a-half years since the release of 2012's "Unapologetic," we may be seeing RiRi's eighth studio album drop sometime this year.
