Sir Anthony Hopkins and Joe Simpson Sell Malibu Homes

Academy Award-winner Sir Anthony Hopkins has reportedly sold his trophy mansion, while the father and former manager of pop stars Jessica and Ashlee Simpson, Joe Simpson, has put his Malibu house on the market.

Sir Anthony Hopkins recently sold his house in Malibu. The charming Point Dume Bluff estate was sold for $10.5 million; the previous asking price was $11.5 million. Hopkins purchased the Cape-Cod style house in 2001 for $3,795,000.

The 4,000-square-foot main house sits on an acre of land surrounded by trees, lawns, and the grassy grounds. The house has four bedrooms, four bathrooms, and it's connected via a spiral staircase. It also includes a big living area with a white painted stone fireplace, a spa and a sauna, a pool house, an outdoor kitchen, and a barbecue area. He also changed the original look, painting the exterior a shade of yellow and adding clay tiled roof.

Hopkins, a Welsh actor, director, and film producer, was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for services to the arts in 1993. Also known for his role in the recent movie about Pope Benedict XVI "The Two Popes", as Methuselah in "Noah", as Odin in MCU's "Thor" movies and of course, "Silence of the Lambs".

Joe Simpson's Home

Another celebrity is moving out of Malibu. Joe Simpson, the father, and manager of pop star idols, Jessica and Ashlee Simpson. He has unloaded his 5,430-square-foot hillside house with an asking price of $4.5 million.

The property was bought for $3,758,000 in 2015 after he got separated from his wife, Tina Ann Simpson. He would sometimes use this house as a backdrop for his social media posts. He once posted a photo of the house to inform his followers that he was unharmed from the Woolsey fire back in 2018. On the post, he said, "Home sweet home. Safe!!!!! So happy.... Thanks for the many people that asked."

The property has four bedrooms with the main bedroom offering a stunning oceanview, six bathrooms, and an all-access elevator including the roof deck. A guest room has a separate entrance through a terraced garden. Also, there are additional rooms that can serve as a studio, gym, and office.

There is also a spa-like bath, a fireplace with glass walls in the living area, a private patio that has a bar and spa that can accommodate eight persons. Plus, there are two huge closets and two more bedrooms. Based on the listing details, the almost half acre lot property consists of two lots that were legally combined. One of the lots has expansion plans for an entertainment kitchen, another parking area, and a pool. The house was established in 1992.

Joe Simpson is an American Baptist Minister and enlisted as a manager for his daughter, Jessica until 2012. He served as an agent for his younger daughter, Ashlee. He also produced TV projects like "Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica", starring Jessica Simpson and ex-husband and 98 degrees former member, Nick Lachey. Simpson is now working as a professional photographer.
