Apple iOS 8.2 Release Date, Beta & Features: Update Out By Monday? Yes Confirms New Report [Rumors]

Apple users can rejoice as a new update for iOS 8 is set to roll out. New reports reveal that the iOS 8.2 could be released as early as Monday.

The Cupertino-based firm is said to be ready for release. BGR shared that without any unforeseen setbacks during this last stage, iOS 8.2 may be ready for public consumption by Monday or at the latest, the following week.

Since November, the iOS 8.2 has been undergoing testing and with this release, we could see the iOS 8.2 out a full week before the expected March 9 release of the Apple Watch. The expected update is believed to be carrying support for the new wearable technology, notes MacRumors.

"A Monday, March 2 release date for iOS 8.2 would mean the software would be released to consumers a full week ahead of Apple's scheduled March 9 "Spring Forward" media event, where the company is expected to divulge additional details on the Apple Watch," added the tech site.

The supposed March release of the OS update has been circulating over the past few weeks but it was pegged for a mid- to late- March release so this unexpected earlier launch is good news for Apple device users.

In addition, BGR also tips that development for the iOS 8.3 is also underway. With a rumored 4 beta versions, it seems testing releases are about halfway through then it will be rolled out to consumers. There is no estimated iOS 8.3 release date as of now.

Apple Watch

The tech firm has already announced an Apple Watch event for March 9 at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in San Francisco called "Spring Forward." In an invitation to the media, the latest details on the company's first wearable technology will be unveiled. The event will be broadcast through Apple's Live website and can also be seen through Apple TV through a dedicated channel.

Last month, Apple CEO Tim Cook revealed that Apple was on track to begin selling the smartwatches by April. "Development for Apple Watch is right on schedule, and we expect to begin shipping in April," said Cook.

The line of Apple Watches boast sport and luxury watch editions. The entry-level sport model is priced at $349.  The Apple Watch marks Apple's newest line of gadgets since the release of the first iPad in 2010.

While Apple is believed to be focusing on the launch of the Apple Watch, it's possible that it could be a venue to unveil other products as well, including the rumored 12-inch Retina MacBook Air or a new iPhone 6S.
