‘Game of Thrones’ Season 5 Release Date, Cast & Spoilers: Fans will be ‘Double-Crossed’? Kevan Lannister Returns!

Those who have kept up with "The Game of Thrones" since it first started know by now to always expect the unexpected. John Bradley, who plays Samwell Tarly, hinted at the launch of a themed exhibition at the O2 Arena in London that fans should prepare themselves to be "surprised" as they will be "double-crossed" when the show returns in April 12, 2015, according to Independent.

"The quandary going into Season 5, if anything, is that we know what people like," Bradley said. "We know what people expect. So, we know that we are going to have to keep them interested in what they like, but find ways of surprising them still."

"As far as Sam is concerned, Sam finished Season 4 on a relative high," he added, according to Belfast Telegraph. "He achieved so much in Season 4, not only coming to the forefront and gaining all this responsibility during the battle for Castle Black, but also forming the more intimate relationship with Gilly." Gilly is played by Hannah Murray.

One of the surprising things that could happen when "Game of Thrones" returns with its fifth season would be the return of Kevan Lannister. Rumor has it that Ian Gelder will be coming back to reprise his role in King's Landing, according to The International Business Times.

He is the younger brother of Tywin Lannister, played by Charles Dance, and, as reported by Watchers on the Wall, Gelder was spotted in the Belfast studios reportedly filming for the hit HBO drama's upcoming season during the fall. The report states that Kevan Lannister will be showing up by the end of Season 5.

"Game of Thrones" fans who read the books will most likely expect Lannister to take on the role of the Regent of the Kingdom, especially after Cersei Lannister's (Lena Headey) plans to frame Margaery Tyrell, played by Natalie Dormer, do not go as well as she hoped.

George R.R. Martin, the author of the bestselling novels, in his signature kill-them-off fashion, makes Kevan Lannister die in the hands of Lord Varys, played by Conleth Hill. Although this much has been predicted, no confirmation has been given yet. To date, it remains unclear if the fifth season will only show Kevan Lannister's kingdom takeover, or if it will also include his death scene.

The universe of "Game of Thrones" is quite known for its complex system that depict the power-play among the Seven Kingdoms, with each vying for the much-coveted iron throne. Screen Rant reports that HBO has recently released a short clip, entitled, "A Day in the Life," which shows how the production team prepares in various key locations over the course of a single day.
