iOS 8.3 Release Date & Features: Apple Developing New OS for Television Sets? [Rumors]

A new iOS is rumored to be arriving soon from Apple, which will not only be great for the handheld devices of Apple loyalists. Word is out that the iOS 8.3 is coming soon and would pave the way for the introduction of the Apple TV on its wake.

The iOS 8 was introduced in 2014 with the coming of the latest iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. But while the said OS was by far the best upgrade the tech firm has ever made with its additional features, it continues to bring problems to many of its users, said BGR.

Apple has already addressed this with additional patches and the latest, iOS 8.1.3 is said to have fixed almost all of the concerns raised by users.

But as the Tim Cook-led firm is said to unveil another gadget for its loyal users, a new update is expected to ensure its compatibility with devices already out in the market.

The iOS 8.2 is reportedly on its way to users in preparation for the new Apple Watch, said IB Times. This update, which is targeting future users of the upcoming arm device, would also fix a lot of bugs and glitches, which the 8.1.3 update could not address anymore.

But while a lot has been waiting for the iOS 8.2 update, some fans of the tech firm are keener to know about the rumored iOS 8.3.

While Apple has not made any announcement on these said updates, 9to5mac revealed in a report that they discovered iOS users accessing their site via Google Analytics. These users varied from iOS 8.1, 8.2 and 8.3.

According to BGR, the iOS 8.3 could be in preparation for the rumored 12-inch iPad Pro that the company is set to unveil this year.

The Fuse Joplin said the update is specifically programed to introduce Apple's latest addition to its gadget lineup, which is the Apple TV.

While the company already has an existing digital box for its TV channel subscription, some reports have mentioned an actual television set is in the works and would go with the latest 8.3 system.

According to Stabley Times, it is reported that the iOS 8.3 update would help turn iPads and iPhones into a form of home entertainment for those not willing to buy the Apple TV set.

The iOS 8.3 update is said to be the first update of its kind as the company behind these devices normally don't come up with a third software update.
